The mission of Partners United for Children is to broaden the awareness of the need for foster and adoptive parents in the communities it serves. It is our intent to enhance and support neighborhood-based, culturally competent foster and adoptive recruitment and retention resources for children and youths entrusted to the state of Connecticut. |

Become a Foster/Adoptive Parent Ø Complete an inquiry form Ø Attend an open house to learn more Ø Have no protective service history and no criminal history Ø Attend training once a week for 9 weeks Ø Be in good physical, mental, and emotional health Ø Have adequate space for a child
Ø A monthly stipend to cover the child’s expenses Ø Medical coverage for the child Ø A social worker who will be available to help with problems Ø A monthly support group meeting of other parents Ø Ongoing training sessions, workshops, and conferences Ø A hotline number for emergencies Ø Experiencing the strength of community involvement Ø Lots of laughs Ø Satisfaction knowing you made a difference in a child’s life |
